(11/20/2013) 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick acquired a dubious distinction Week 11: He joined Jacksonville’s Blaine Gabbert as the only quarterbacks to pass at least 31 times and throw for fewer than 128 yards.
A major disappointment following his sensational 2012 finish, Kaepernick leads the league’s worst passing attack. He’s been held under 200 passing yards in four straight games. For the season, he’s accounted for 14 touchdowns (three rushing) against 11 turnovers.
Monday night in Washington, though, Kaepernick is a viable Fantasy starter. He’ll face a defense that’s given up 275 passing yards per game (25th) and 19 passing scores (tied for 23rd). The Redskins allow the seventh-most Fantasy points per game, 21.8, to opposing quarterbacks. The last two have posted 100-plus passer ratings.
With Mario Manningham knocking the rust off and Michael Crabtree possibly returning Week 12, things are looking up for Kaepernick. He’s a low-end QB1 on Monday.
